Dr. Meade specializes in primary eye care for children and adults of all ages. Licensed by the North Carolina State Board of Optometry, Dr. Meade has experience with general eye care, identification and treatment of ocular disease, contact lens fitting, low vision examinations, and the applications of lenses for correction of visual deficiencies.

Dr. Meade received a biology degree from Furman University in Greenville, SC and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York, NY. Dr. Meade completed a residency in Primary Eye Care and Low Vision Rehabilitation at the West Haven Veterans Hospital in West Haven, CT. He completed optometric internships at the Philadelphia Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA and at the SUNY Eye Center in New York, NY.

Dr. Meade is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Mountain District Optometric Society. Prior to optometry school he served 2 years in the United States Peace Corps in Turkmenistan as a health educator and then taught high school chemistry in Chapin, SC. Dr. Meade lives in Asheville with his wife and two children. He enjoys mountain biking, cooking, and traveling.
