Dr. Wiggins specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology and serves as the physician administrator for Asheville Eye Associates.  He is a consulting associate with the Duke University Department of Ophthalmology. Following his fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology, Dr. Wiggins served for one year as Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatric Ophthalmology at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and since 1991 has practiced at Asheville Eye Associates.  He is a past president of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has also served as president of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He has served on the boards of the American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives and the Ophthalmic Mutual Insurance Company.  He currently serves as a board member of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
